Vegan Protein Burger Pattie

Gluten-free, made with primarily whole foods!!

The most straightforward burgers to make — all you need is ONE bowl and ONE fry pan!

Remember, you can always substitute ingredients for what you have on hand. You can use this as a 'base' recipe and mix and match as you like.

  • Coconut oil to fry with

— — — —

  • 4 flax eggs (1/4 cup ground flax, 1/3 cup water, mix and let rest for 5 minutes until it forms a gel)

— — — —

  • 200g block extra firm tofu, crumbled in your hands

  • 1 1/2 cups sprouted lentils

  • 1 small white onion, chopped

  • 1 head of garlic, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup raw grated beetroot

  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 2 tbsp. tamari

  • 3 tbsp. tomato paste

  • 3 tbsp mustard

  • 1 tbsp. paprika

  • 2 tsp. coriander powder

  • 1/2 cup sorghum flour (or any other GF flour)

  • Sea salt and pepper

Magic Method:

  • Prepare the flax egg.

  • Combine all other ingredients in a bowl.

  • Add the flax egg.

  • Form into burger-shaped patties with your hands.

  • Warm a fry-pan with the coconut oil

  • Fry roughly 8 minutes each side

Note: You can bake these, oil-free! Oven 180 for 15 minutes aside. Your choice.

Enjoy my whole food, veggie-loving fam! I'll be posting about sprouted lentils soon — I love them, and they're so easy to make too.
